15W, so this light bulb uses 0.015 units per hour when switched on.

Here's a simplified model of residential light bills:

A cycle lasts from the beginning of a month to the end of a month. For example, if it is January 2026 now, the price of a unit will reset on February 2026.

There is a monthly fee of
2.132.13
So, there's a spending of GHS2.13 to get 0 units.

A maximum of 30 units could be bought for a price of GHS0.92792595 each before you will have to upgrade your account.

So, when 30 units are bought at a price of GHS0.92792595 each,
2.13+(30×0.92792595)=29.96777852.13 \\ +\,(30 \times 0.92792595)\\ = 29.9677785
So, there's a spending of GHS29.9677785 to get 30 units.

To buy more units, you will have to upgrade your account from Lifeline to Other Residential Consumers for the month, for a fee of GHS43.8329745.
2.13+(30×0.92792595)+43.8329745=73.8007532.13 \\ +\,(30 \times 0.92792595) \\ +\,43.8329745\\ = 73.800753
So, there's a spending of GHS73.800753 to get 30 units, if an account with 30 units were to somehow be upgraded anyway.

After buying 30 units, a maximum of 270 units can be bought for GHS2.1023289 each. For example, if 300 units are bought,
2.13+(30×0.92792595)+43.8329745+(270×2.1023289)=641.4295562.13 \\ +\,(30 \times 0.92792595) \\ +\,43.8329745 \\ +\,(270 \times 2.1023289)\\ = 641.429556
So, there's a spending of GHS641.429556 to get 300 units.

If you need any more units, each unit will be sold at a price of GHS2.7778842 each.

From April 1 2026 on,

up until any next change, there is a monthly fee of
2.132.13
So, there's a spending of GHS2.13 to get 0 units.

A maximum of 30 units could be bought for a price of GHS0.91245 each before you will have to upgrade your account.

So, when 30 units are bought at a price of GHS0.91245 each,
2.13+(30×0.91245)=29.50352.13 \\ +\,(30 \times 0.91245)\\ = 29.5035
So, there's a spending of GHS29.5035 to get 30 units.

To buy more units, you will have to upgrade your account from Lifeline to Other Residential Consumers for the month, for a fee of GHS43.2453735.
2.13+(30×0.91245)+43.2453735=72.74887352.13 \\ +\,(30 \times 0.91245) \\ +\,43.2453735\\ = 72.7488735
So, there's a spending of GHS72.7488735 to get 30 units, if an account with 30 units were to somehow be upgraded anyway.

After buying 30 units, a maximum of 270 units can be bought for GHS2.06726625 each. For example, if 300 units are bought,
2.13+(30×0.91245)+43.2453735+(270×2.06726625)=630.9107612.13 \\ +\,(30 \times 0.91245) \\ +\,43.2453735 \\ +\,(270 \times 2.06726625)\\ = 630.910761
So, there's a spending of GHS630.910761 to get 300 units.

If you need any more units, each unit will be sold at a price of GHS2.73155505 each.
