Understand your light bill.

Light bills are common, so it makes sense to understand how they work.

Here's a simplified model of residential light bills:

A cycle lasts from the beginning of a month to the end of a month. For example, if it is March 2025 now, the price of a unit will reset on April 2025.

There is a monthly fee of
2.13=2.132.13 = 2.13 .

So, there's a spending of GHS2.13 to get 0 units.

A maximum of 30 units could be bought for a price of GHS0.71031975 each before you will have to upgrade your account.

So, when 30 units are bought at a price of GHS0.71031975 each,
2.13+(30×0.71031975)=23.43959252.13 + (30 \times 0.71031975) = 23.4395925 .

So, there's a spending of GHS23.4395925 to get 30 units.

To buy more units, you will have to upgrade your account from Lifeline to Other, for a fee of GHS35.570808.

2.13+(0.71031975×30)+35.570808=59.0104002.13 + (0.71031975 \times 30) + 35.570808 = 59.010400 .

So, there's a spending of GHS59.0104005 to get 30 units, if an account with 30 units were to somehow be upgraded anyway.

A maximum of 270 units can be bought, for GHS1.60931715 each. For example, if 300 units are bought,

2.13+(0.71031975×30)+35.570808+(270×1.60931715)=493.5260312.13 + (0.71031975 \times 30) + 35.570808 + (270 \times 1.60931715) = 493.526031 .

So, there's a spending of GHS493.526031 to get 300 units.

If you need any more units, each unit will be sold at a price of GHS2.1264495 each.

It is possible to buy 0.1 units.
